Chipola Finishes Second In State Baseball Tournament; Five Indians Named To All-Tourney Team

The Chipola College Indians (43-16) finished as the runner-up in FCSAA State Tournament. Five Chipola players were named to the All-Tournament team Keiner Colmenarez, Tyler Osik, Wood Myers, Reynaldo Rivera and Bowden Francis.


The Chipola Lady Indians (50-15) came as close as a team could come to winning a second straight NJCAA National Championship. Four Lady Indians were named to the All-Tournament team: pitcher Ilona Andringa, third baseman Ashley Morris, catcher Madison Ragan and outfielder Gabriela Santos.


The Troy outdoor track and field team is set to compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries, which begins on Thursday and ends on Saturday.


The Alabama State women’s soccer team schedule has been released for the 2016 fall season as the SWAC Championship runner up will be gearing up to contend for another title run.


Senior starting pitcher Grant Bennett tabbed All-Sun Belt First Team, while senior starting pitcher Lucas Brown and junior outfielder Joey Denison were named All-Sun Belt second team, the Sun Belt Conference announced on Tuesday night.
