The Troy baseball team leaves Wednesday, with a 21/2 hour drive south, for the Tallahassee Regional.
"We're excited about rolling in with our best guys on the mound ready to go and ready to swing the bat. And hopefully tee it up again and show them a little about what weare about, " said Tyler Vaughn
First up for the Trojans at Dick Howser stadium, will be hefty match against Alabama.
"I think Alabama is probably playing as good as they have right now all year as of late, which is what you want your team to be doing. Our team had a great second half team run, so I can say the same things about our club," said Coach Pierce.
"Its kind of advantage I guess for us as a team because we have seen them. A lot of us have played with them growing up threw out our career so for us, to get to open up with Alabama touches
home a little. I guess you can say it adds a little bit more intensity to the team knowing that they beat us early in the year and that we can return the favor," said Danny Collins.
Troy plans on letting the focus and intensity come natural.
"You are going to have more intensity as a player and as human. The adrenaline is going to be there, the extra level of focus is going to be there, just because of the stage its on and that's all natural. So its all about controlling that and using that to your advantage," said Logan Pierce.
This will be the first Trojan's trip to the Tallahassee Regional since 1995. This year, Head Coach Bobby Pierce passed up John Mayotte for second on the all-time Trojan victories history list.
