48 of the top High School basketball teams in the state will converge on Dothan later this month.

The South Regional Tournament is back at the Dothan Civic Center from the 18th through the 22nd.

24 girls and 24 boys teams will meet at the Civic Center, battling for spots in the final 48 in Birmingham.

Dothan hosted this tournament for the first time last year, and local businesses felt an immediate impact.

"With 48 teams coming for four or five days, they'll spend over half a million dollars while they're here. That half a million turns over about four times, so it's really like they're spending about two million dollars of new money while they're here in the Dothan area."

Admission for the tournament is $8.

Games will begin at 9 a.m. each day.
