Sunshine Soars Past Geneva County at South Regional Tournament

DOTHAN, AL - Eulacia Edwards brought her A-game to the Dothan Civic Center on Tuesday afternoon. Edwards erupted for 37 points and 12 rebounds, leading Sunshine past Geneva County 71-56.

With the win, Sunshine (18-4) advanced to face Brantley on Friday at 3:40 p.m. Geneva County ends the year with a 25-5 record.

Edwards big afternoon offset a huge game from Geneva County star Lacy Stafford. The Bulldogs sophomore guard scored 29 points and added 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

Alexis Lewis added 16 points and 12 rebounds for Sunshine. The Tigers outrebounded the Bulldogs 48-35.

Tamyya Hilliard chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds for Geneva County.

Brantley - 40 St. Luke's - 37

Brantley edged St. Luke's 40-37 in a back and forth game at the 1A South Regional Semifinals. With the win, Brantley advanced to face Sunshine in the 1A Regional Final on Friday.

Peyton Burnett scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Brantley (24-5) is the defending Class 1A State Champion.

Catherine Milwee led St. Luke's (20-7) with 11 points.
