Oneonta Rolls Past Charles Henderson in 4A Girls Semifinals

BIRMINGHAM, AL -- Oneonta's Destiney Elliott had quite a day against Charles Henderson during Wednesday's Class 4A State Semifinals. It turns out, Elliott nearly beat the Trojans single handed.

Elliott scored 29 points, one more than the entire Charles Henderson team in Oneonta's 55-28 victory. With the win, the Redskins advanced to face the winner of Anniston and Calera for the Class 4A State Title on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Elliott added a game-high 14 rebounds for Oneonta (29-6). Abby Blackwood added 20 points for the Redskins.

This game was over early, as Oneonta jumped out to a 15-7 lead after the first quarter. The Redskins led 31-17 at halftime, and rolled to the 27-point victory.

India Blakely led Charles Henderson (21-3) with 14 points and nine rebounds. Kyra Scott chipped in 12 points for the Trojans.
