(DOTHAN)- After six seasons as the head football coach at New Brockton, Jim Bob Striplin has decided to resign.
The Gamecocks went 31-33 ini Striplin's six seasons as head coach. The 31 wins are the second most among the 40-year coaching history at New Brockton.
Striplin says he's looking at different opportunities and plans to pursue a new coaching challenges elsewhere.
Stripin took to twitter yesterday after turning in his letter of resignation and tweeted: "Tough day for me! When the going gets tough the tough get going!"
For now, Striplin will remain a health teacher at New Brockton until his resignation is officially approved by the Coffee County School Board.
There are now three head coaching vacancies in the Wiregrass. Opp, Charles Henderson and now New Brockton are all looking for new head coaches.
