KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers selected the contract of Clint Robinson from Triple-A Albuquerque and designated infielder Jamie Romak for assignment before their game Wednesday night against Kansas City.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said the move was made to add another left-handed bat to the lineup. Robinson was hitting .309 with 14 homers and 56 RBIs with the Isotopes.
Romak made his big league debut May 28. He appeared in 15 games with the Dodgers.
In other news, Mattingly said third baseman Juan Uribe could be activated before Thursday's game against St. Louis. Uribe has been on the disabled list with a hamstring injury.
Shortstop Hanley Ramirez remains sidelined by shoulder soreness that caused him to be a late scratch from the lineup Tuesday night. He'll be examined again Thursday in Los Angeles.
