DOTHAN, AL -- Blount jumped out to a 21-4 lead and never looked back, rolling past 2nd-ranked Theodore 67-53 in Friday's 6A Boys South Regional Final. With the win, the Leopards advanced to the Final 48 in Birmingham next week.
Demetrius Caldwell was the driving force behind the Leopards win, pouring in 30 points. Cameron Diggs added 15 points and Reginald Harbin chipped in 10 for the Leopards (26-3).
Blount outscored Theodore 22-12 in the first quarter, and pushed the lead to 38-23 by halftime. Theodore closed the gap to 10 points heading to the fourth quarter, but could not complete the comeback, falling one game short of the Final Four.
Dazon Ingram led Theodore (25-4) with 19 points.
