Alabama prep stars outlast Mississippi 21-17

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Opelika's Stephen Roberts broke up a fourth-down pass in the end zone with 3:21 to play to help Alabama secure a 21-17 win in Saturday's Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic at Cramton Bowl.
Rashaan Evans, an outside linebacker from Auburn, was Alabama's most valuable player. Sammie Epps, a tight end from Greenwood, was Mississippi's best.
Epps finished with seven catches for 125 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown in the second quarter that gave Mississippi a 14-7 lead.
Evans had eight tackles, including four for loss and a sack. He also returned an interception 5 yards for a touchdown early in the third quarter to tie it 14-14.
Alabama took the lead on a 33-yard pass from Clay-Chalkville's Hayden Moore to Demopolis' Demetrius Kemp late in the third quarter.
Oxford's Cody Mills kicked a 29-yard field early in the fourth quarter, pulling Mississippi to within four.
