DOTHAN, AL -- The Eufaula Boys Basketball Team watched a late lead slip away against St. Paul's during Wednesday's 5A Regional Semifinal at the Dothan Civic Center. Facing four minutes of overtime basketball, the Tigers regained their composure.
Eufaula outscored St. Paul's 12-4 in the extra period, winning 62-54. With the win, the Tigers advanced to face Faith Academy in the 5A Regional Final on Friday at 2 p.m.
Jaylin Robinson continued his monster season for Eufaula, scoring 30 points and grabbing nine rebounds. John Tyson added 11 points and Jacquan Gordon chipped in 10 points for the Tigers.
Jerry Williams led St. Paul's (12-14) with 19 points.
Faith Academy - 71 Russell County - 51
Braszuan Barnes led four Faith Academy players in double figures with 22 points, pacing the Rams past Russell County 71-51 in the 5A Boys Regional Semifinals. With the win, Faith Academy advanced to face Eufaula in the 5A Regional Final on Friday at 2 p.m.
Shantell Benard added 17 points, while James Davis and Josh hill chipped in 13 points each for the Rams (27-2).
The Rams used a blistering offense to top the Warriors, hitting 54 percent of their shots, including 7-of-14 3-pointers. Faith Academy also went to the free throw line 33 times, making 22 of those attempts.
Marshel Lyons was the only Russell County player in double figures with 16 points.
