The Wiregrass Cardinals Red Team is on the doorstep of an AAU World Series title. The Cardinals beat the Boston Rams 5-0, advancing to the semifinals of the Underclassmen World Series in Fort Myers.

With the win, the Cardinals advanced to face East Cobb out of Atlanta, Georgia in the semifinals on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. A win in that game will put the Cardinals in the championship game on Sunday, against the winner of Brazos Valley, Texas and the New Jersey Tigers.

Earlier in the day, the Cardinals tied Brazos Valley 3-3 in a game to determine seeding in the single elimination bracket. After that game, the Cardinals were named the top seed in the tournament.

The 3-3 tie is the only game the Cardinals have not won in Fort Myers.
