The Wicksburg Panthers continue their quest toward a hopeful state championship Friday.
The Panthers hit the road to take on Flomaton down in Escambia County. Wicksburg is coming off a big series win over G.W. Long last weekend, but will have an uphill battle against the Hurricanes.
Flomaton is 27-4 on the season and at one point this year had a 20-game winning streak.
The Panthers know the Hurricanes are a tough team, but will rely on senior leadership to help them weather the storm.
"Some of those guys that are seniors may have learned some lessons from last year," head coach Lee Hyde said.
"I think running through that experience has made us better. I think it's made them more mentally tough and made us a better ballclub going through that."
First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 4:30 at Flomaton High School.
