Tyler Gregory and Chet Simoneaux led the Wallace Baseball Team in most categories this season. Now, both hope to continue that trend for new programs.

Gregory and Simoneaux have both signed with Division One programs. Gregory chose James Madison, while Simoneaux picked Louisiana-Monroe.

After a monster freshman season, Gregory cooled off a bit this season, but he believes he's developed enough at Wallace to contribute at James Madison right away.

"I always knew that I had the talent, coming out, to go to D-One, but maybe there were some things I needed to work on," Gregory said. "I've definitely gottten stronger, bigger, faster. I'm hitting the ball with more power than I did coming out of high school. That's really what I was focused on here, was just adding on to what I already had."

Simoneaux starred in the field and on the mound for the Govs as a sophomore. He believes he can continue to do so for the Warhawks over the next two years.

"They're going to give me an opportunity to do more than just pitch, or to just play the field," Simoneaux said. "They're going to give the opportunity to play both, and I feel like it's a good place for me. I went on my visit and hada good time. The coaches are nice, and they've got a good program."

Gregory hit .279 as a sophomore with three home runs and 29 r.b.i. He had better numbers as a freshman, hitting .335 with nine homers and 49 r.b.i.

Simoneaux was a .329 hitter as a sophomore with four homes and 30 r.b.i. He also posted a 3-1 record on the mound, with a 3.48 e.r.a. in 31 innings of work.
