The Post 12 baseball team got off to a good start this past weekend.
Post 12 won three of four games at the memorial tournament in Tuscaloosa.
Post 12 beat the Mississippi All-Stars and Centerville Post 128, and split games with traditional rival Tuscaloosa Post 34.
That gives the dozen some momentum as they head into their next tournament, which is this weekend in Ozark.
Head coach Larry Tubbs believes his team is performing well, but he knows this year's club is capable of playing even better.
"What we try to do is get our kids on the road and put them in an environment that's difficult to begin with and we were pleased, we have gone over there in previous years and not done that well so I thought overall our performance was very good," Tubbs said.
Post 12 will open play at the Eagle Stadium Classic in Ozark Friday at two o'clock against Leesburg Georgia Post 182.
