Carroll High School Football Coach Stacy Watters was killed in a car accident in Orlando, Florida on Thursday morning. Watters and his 10-year-old son Quinton were killed when their vehicle was struck by a box truck.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers shut State Road 520 after the fatal crash. Officials said that Watters' car pulled out in front of the truck on State Road 520.
Watters and his 10-year-old son were pronounced dead at the scene. Watters' 7-year-old son, Jai, was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital.
Watters was beginning his second year at Carroll. He posted a 3-7 record in his first year as the coach of the Eagles.
He graduated from West Alabama. Watters had previous coaching stops at Sumter County, where he was the head coach from 2004-2008. He spent 2010 as an assistant at Linden, before taking the Carroll job in 2011.
