Dothan, AL -- Gunnar Peters has played a big role for the Northview Football and Baseball Teams this year. Now, Peters is being rewarded for his busy senior season.
Peters signed a letter of intent to play both sports for Huntingdon College on Wednesday. Peters says he'll be an outfielder on the diamond, while he'll have the chance to play either quarterback or defensive back for the Hawks on the gridiron.
And, Peters can't wait to hit campus in Montgomery and begin the next phase of his career.
"Both of them seemed like they really wanted me, like they were really interested," Peters said. "They both kept in touch with each other and talked about how I wasn't the first guy that they've had play two sports."
"It was nice to know that they knew how to deal with it."
Peters is wrapping up his high school career on a high note, helping the Cougars advance to the second round of the Class 6A playoffs. He's hitting .352 with 22 r.b.i. for the Cougars this season.
