ELBA, Ala. (AP) -- Troy football coach Larry Blakeney is supporting a Trojan signee who is among four players charged with breaking into Elba High School.
Coffee County officials say four 18-year-olds are accused of felony burglary after someone entered the school last week. They include Michael Kendez Canta Lindsey, who earned a full scholarship to play football at Troy University.
Blakeney tells The Dothan Eagle (http://bit.ly/KOUZ8H ) he has talked to Lindsey and his coach, and he supports the player. Lindsey was the MVP in the Class 2A state championship game.
Police say the break-in resulted in vandalism that left damage estimated at about $30,000. The school was closed one day while workers cleaned up damage from the break-in.
