Kids ages 6-13 got a chance to learn about the game of football today from Troy head coach Larry Blakeney and his staff. Blakeney says it's always a good time when he comes to Dothan.
"We always have a good time here in Dothan and throughout the Wiregrass in general," said Blakeney.
"There are a lot of Troy alumni, friends and family here in Dothan so it's good to come back and reach out," he said.
Kids 6-9 participated in camp from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. while the 10-13 age group had their fun in the afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The camp helped introduce football fundamentals.
""We just scratch the surface of football using pads and dummies. We talk about the game. It's really good for the kids," said Blakeney.
For Josh Halbrook, it gave him a chance to learn about the sport of football and meet new friends.
"I had a lot of fun, we learned a lot of about offense and defense and I saw some friends from school," said Halbrook.
Coach Blakeney says given the current success of the camp he will continue to come back.
