Student-athletes from two different school signed on the dotted line to continue their athletic careers in college today.

Northview girls soccer players Kendall Brazell and Josie Byard have enjoyed playing the last four years together in maroon and gold and look forward to spending the next four together as Huntingdon Hawks.

"Just the fact that I get to share it with her and I get to meet new people. It's going to be weird not being with my friends that I've played with for four years, but it'll be fun," said Brazell.

Both girls helped the Cougars reach the second round of the playoffs this past season and enjoyed playoff runs during all four years.

"Coach Brunner, Coach Ivan, they've both been like father's to me and they've taught me so much about life. I couldn't thank them enough," said Byard.

This past season Brazell recorded 5 goals with the Cougars and Byard recorded 167 saves in net. Both girls say they plan to start next season for the Hawks.

At Rehobeth high school, baseball stand-out Jake Brown and softball standout Lauren Paige Hobbs signed to play for Wallace Community College next season.

Brown pitched 36 innings this past season, recording 50 strikeouts. At the plate Brown hit two home-runs and 25 RBI's. He had a .330 batting average.

"I like it over there. Coach Sasser, he's just tryin to build the program and get a lot of new guys in there. Hopefully I can help accomplish this," said Brown.

Hobbs played center-field her entire career for the Rebels. Her junior year she had 39 hits, 15 RBI's and 17 stolen bases. She had a .307 batting average.

"I've been an outfielder my whole entire high school career and I hope to be a center-fielder and run like the wind," said Hobbs.
