Six teams began Wednesday with their dreams of an Alabama State Junior College Championship intact. After three more games at Ozark's Eagle Stadium, only four would remain.
Southern Union kept it's season alive, winning it's third straight game in Ozark with a 12-4 victory over Faulkner State. The Sun Chiefs were eliminated.
In the second game of the day, Central Alabama knocked off Chattahoochee Valley 9-4, eliminating the Pirates from the field. Central Alabama and Southern Union will square off at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Shelton State topped Wallace-Hanceville 6-4 in the final game of the night, which featured the only two remaining undefeated teams in the field. The Buccaneers advanced Friday's Championship Game, and will have to win just one more time to capture the state title and a berth in the Junior College World Series.
Wallace-Hanceville will have to play the Central Alabama/Southern Union winner on Thursday night at 7:30 for the other berth in Friday's title game.
