The Emerald Coast Golf Tour has seen players such as Joe Durant, Boo Weekley, Heath Slocum and 2012 Masters winner, Bubba Watson.
Since 1989 the Emerald Professional Golf Tour mission is to provide venues, competition and experience that will allow the players to develop and hone their skills to the point where they may attain the ultimate goal of making, competing and succeeding on the PGA Tour.
Many current and former tour players admit they wouldn't be where they are now if it weren't for the lessons they learned as a kid. Former PGA Tour player and current ECGT competitor Ben Bates enjoys paying it forward.
"It's nice to come out here and just give back especially because I've beeen so fortunate," said Bates.
Dothan National Golf Club held a kids clinic today from 4:00-5:00 p.m. which Bates help lead.
"You want to stress mostly that anyone in the world can achieve their goals no matter what your height or weight. Especially in golf, there's specific builds for other sports but golf, anyone can play," said Bates.
Action begins Wednesday, April 24th and wraps up Friday with the final round at Dothan National.
