Dothan's Ready for the Dixie Future Stars

It's going to be a busy weekend on the diamond in Dothan.

The Dixie Future Stars Wood Bat Tournament is coming to the Miracle Field Complex beginning this Friday.

Eight teams, featuring some of the top players in the country, will battle for titles in two age groups at Westgate Park.

"This is a more relaxed, fun tournament that will bring in people from out of town,” Roy Kitts of Dothan Leisure Services said. “Dothan tries to showcase our leisure services and highlight the things that we have in Dothan."

Teams will practice tomorrow, leading up to the opening ceremonies tomorrow night at the Westgate Rec Center.

Games begin on Saturday morning and wrap up Sunday with the championship games in the junior Dixie boys and Dixie boys age groups.
