Last season the Dothan Tigers narrowly missed the playoffs after an overtime loss to bainbridge. With a large class of returning seniors, head coach Kelvis White says he thinks they've got a shot.

White is entering his seventh season as the tigers head coach.

Dothan finished last season six and four, and had to sit out of the playoffs for the second year in a row.

The Tigers are looking for a new quarterback, transfers Cooper sellers and Tyler Marshall are both fighting for the job.

Coach White says he's considering using both and working with a two quarterback system .

After reclassifications, Dothan will stay in 6a.

While some long time opponents move up to 7a, the classic Northview rivalry wont change.

"i don't think you add any more excitement. Those guys are excited about playing each other and nothing's changed. We're always in the same region, still in the same region, you know we just moved it back a little bit now and uh, i like playing it early, get it out of the way so we can get going and uh like i say the build up to it, it'll be fun." White said.

Dothan currently has the leg up in the rivalry over Northview, the Tigers open with smith station on august 29th.
