David Heath was confirmed today as the new Head baseball coach at Carroll high school. Superintendent of Ozark city schools Michael Rinehart as well Carroll principal Patrick Brannan.
"We're very excited about Coach Heath. We've got a lot of great things going on right now at Carroll high and we're getting athletics turned around," said Brannan.
Coach Heath was born in Ozark and drafted by the California Angels in the 26th round of the 1982 MLB draft. He played five seasons in the minor leagues for a total of 493 games. Heath played stints with the Peoria Suns in A before moving up with the Waterbury Angels and Midland Angels in AA. In his final season Heath played 62 games with the Edmonton Trappers.
"Anytime you can bring on a guy like Mr. Heath to help our younger kids then baseball can fall right in line with the rest of our sports," said Brannan.
Most recently Heath has been helping out with Post 12 youth baseball program.
