MARIANNA—Former Chipola College pitcher Robby Coles has been named an NJCAA All-American as a member of the Baseball All-America Third Team.
A native of Crawfordville, Florida, Coles was 9-0 on the mound this season and helped lead the Indians to a Panhandle Conference Championship.
The right-hander has signed to play next year at Florida State University. At 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, Coles amassed an 18-3 record at Chipola during two seasons and helped lead the Indians to a 2011 state title and a fifth place finish in the National Tournament.
Coles played at Wakulla High School where he led the 2010 War Eagles to the Elite 8 of the Regionals for the first time in 42 years.
