The ACCC State Baseball Tournament finally returned to the field on Monday. Wet conditions forced tournament officials to postpone action during Sunday's opening game.
That meant the entire tournament would be pushed back one day, with the title game being moved from Thursday to Friday. Sunday's opener between Wallace-Dothan and Southern Union was postponed in the bottom of the 4th inning, with the Bison leading 3-0.
When play resumed, Southern Union made quick work of the Govs, winning 6-3, eliminating Wallace-Dothan from the field. L.B. Wallace followed with a 7-2 win over Snead State, knocking the Parsons out of the tournament.
Later in the day, Wallace-Hanceville topped Chattahoochee Valley 2-1, knocking the Pirates into the loser's bracket. CVCC will face L.B. Wallace at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Eagle Stadium.
Central Alabama beat Alabama Southern 10-6 in the final game of the night.
