TROY, Ala. – A star-studded collaboration of Troy Athletic Director John Hartwell, Troy football head coach Larry Blakeney and two-time Super Bowl Champion and former Troy Trojan Lawrence Tynes addressed a crowd of fans Saturday morning in an open forum entitled “The Future of Troy Athletics.”
During the address, Hartwell unveiled the future of Troy Athletics and Troy football with a new rendering for the North End Zone Project in Veterans Memorial Stadium.
“Let me caution you by saying this is a rendering, this does not mean it will be the exact finished product,” Hartwell told the crowd Saturday morning. “Recruiting is the lifeblood of our teams and certainly you have got to have the “Wow Factor” if we are going to attract the best student-athletes in this country. This new North End Zone Project is going to give us that “Wow Factor”. When we have potential student-athletes walk on this campus and see that facility they are not going to see any better in Baton Rouge, in Tuscaloosa or in Auburn. This facility is going to be as quality as any program in the country, and we are very excited about that.”
