TROY, Ala. – Troy softball head coach Melanie Davis and the Troy softball team announced the signing of Becca Hartley on Tuesday. A native of Troy, Hartley is in her senior year at nearby Charles Henderson High School.
“We are delighted to have a student athlete of Becca’s caliber join our program. Not only is she physically talented and capable of playing multiple infield positions, she has great accomplishments academically and possesses strong leadership qualities with an impeccable character,” head coach Melanie Davis said.
“It is always exciting to bring a local talent on board and with Becca’s addition to the other five members of the 2013 class, makes me further certain that this is potentially one of the strongest classes put together in the 20 year history of Troy softball.”
The utility infielder is a four-year letter winner in softball and volleyball, but also serves as Student Government Association president, is a member of National Honor Society and an “All A” Honor Roll student.
Hartley was selected as an All-County player this past season at Charles Henderson. She is also a two-time FCA Athlete of the Year.
“I chose Troy because I want to be part of a competitive program while learning how to become a better person and player,” Hartley said on signing with the Trojans.
Hartley joins Abbie Ellison (Leeds, Ala.), Jordan Gray (Chelsea, Ala.), Mackenzie Kayler (Roswell, Ga.), Savannah Thomas (Southside, Ala.) and Meg Willis (Huntsville, Ala.) to complete the six-player signing class for Troy.
