TROY, Ala. – Troy will open the gates of Veterans Memorial Stadium and Trojan Arena on Saturday, Aug. 17, for the 2013 edition of Fan Day. The Troy football team will conduct a scrimmage in the stadium beginning at 10 a.m., Fan Day will begin at 1 p.m. in Trojan Arena and the volleyball team will hold a scrimmage in Trojan Arena immediately following Fan Day.
Members of the football, volleyball, soccer and cross country teams will be on hand, along with the Troy cheerleaders and T-Roy, to pose for pictures and sign autographs at Fan Day. Team posters will be provided for fans.
The Trojan Warrior Club will provide free food and drinks. Fans will have an opportunity to purchase season tickets for the 2013 football season and become a member of the Trojan Warriors.
The Troy soccer team opens its season in less than a month with an exhibition game against Auburn-Montgomery on Aug. 15. The Trojan volleyball teams opens competition on Aug. 30 in a tournament at Southern Miss while the cross country teams host the Trojan Invitational that same day.
Troy opens its 23rd season under legendary football head coach Larry Blakeney on Aug. 31 when in-state rival UAB visits Veterans Memorial Stadium.
