Troy Prepares for Trip to South Alabama

By Tommy Hicks, Press-Register

MOBILE, Alabama -- There are three aspects of Saturday's Troy University-South Alabama game that are expected to play a big role in how the game plays out. And that's not taking into account that it is the first game against a Sun Belt Conference opponent for South Alabama as well as the first home game against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent and the first time the two schools have met in football.

How South Alabama's secondary defends against Troy's prolific passing attack, led by quarterback Corey Robinson, may be the most important matchup of the game. Also important will be how Troy's defense handles the Jaguars' new spread offense. The third area of the game that could play a big role is turnovers; both teams have given up the football a lot thus far and those mistakes have been parlayed into points by previous opponents.
