TROY, Ala. – Troy University football head coach Larry Blakeney announced the signing of junior college linebacker Jordan Anderson to a grant-in-aid on Friday.
Anderson tallied 64 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, one sack, four pass break ups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery last season as a freshman at Arizona Western College. He transferred to junior college powerhouse Butler Community College in the spring before signing with the Trojans on Friday. Anderson was named to the JCGridiron.com (Rivals) Outside Linebackers Watch List for the 2014 season.
A native of Frisco, Texas, Anderson was a dual star at Frisco High School where he played wide receiver and linebacker. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Anderson suffered an injury during spring drills following his junior season which forced him to miss his entire senior campaign.
Anderson sat out the 2012 season in order to pay for junior college and will come to Troy as a true sophomore (four years to play three seasons).
