TROY, Ala. – The Troy baseball team will hit the road once again as the Trojans end a five-game road stretch in Birmingham against UAB at Regions Field on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WTBF 94.7 FM and streamed live on

Troy snapped a three-game skid with a 13-9 win over Georgia State on Sunday. The Trojans trailed 8-2 before scoring eight runs in the fifth inning to take control of the game. Garrett Pitts finished the contest 4-for-5 with two double and 4 RBIs. The senior second baseman has now reached base in 10 consecutive games, his second double-digit streak of the season.

Jo-El Bennett enters Tuesday’s game with the team’s longest hitting streak at eight games. Clay Holcomb has collected a base hit in six straight games. Several Troy hitters are heating up. David Hall is batting .524 (11-for-21) over the last five games with Holcomb (11-for-22) and Nick Masonia (10-for-20) are batting an even .500 over the same stretch of games.

Junior right-hander Chase Davidson will make his first appearance of the season on the mound for the Trojans. The Carrollton, Ala., native was a member of Shelton State Community College’s conference championship team as a freshman. He was also named AISA Pitcher of the Year in 2010 after leading the association in strikeouts and finishing his career at Pickens Academy with a 22-2 record.

UAB enters the game fresh off a series win over Florida International. The Blazers struggled to score runs – plating just two in three games – but got solid pitching efforts to win a pair of 1-0 games before falling 2-0 in the series finale.

Mitch Williams leads the team at the plate with a .350 batting average. Chase Davis holds the team lead with eight doubles and is tied with Jeff Schalk with 15 RBIs.

Regions Field hosted its first game in April of 2013 as the home of the Double-A Birmingham Barons. The 8,500-seat facility in located in downtown Birmingham and replaced Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.
