Troy got on the board in the third, with Smartt leading off with a double to left center. She then took third on a sacrifice by Ebony Wright and came home on a double-steal.

Erica Davis led off the fifth inning with a single through the left side and was pinch run for by Bria Epps. Epps took second and then advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Affeldt. Smartt would then bring home the run with a squeeze bunt, giving Troy a 2-0 lead.

All three seniors picked up a hit on senior day, with Wright hitting a triple, Smartt hitting a double and Kacie McAllister getting a single.
