The Trojans avoided further damage as Hair was thrown out at third to end the inning trying to extend her two-bagger into a triple.

Three Troy errors in the bottom of the third paved the way for the Bobcats to extend their lead to 4-0. A dropped fly ball and two fielding errors by the Troy infield on ground balls hit by Texas State with two outs allowed three unearned runs to score in the third inning. The Bobcats scattered just five hits in the game.

Jordan Masek recorded her third home run this season with a solo shot in the fourth inning off Troy starter Rachel Rigney to end the day for the freshman. Rigney (6-7) lasted 3.1 innings, allowing five runs, two earned and giving up four hits.
