AUBURN, Ala. - Nick Marshall is now officially Auburn's starting quarterback. Jonathan Wallace will back up Marshall as the number 2. Even though Wallace didn't win the starting job, Coach Gus Malzahn says he never lost confidence in his coaches and teammates.

Wallace started the last four games of last season. The sophomore hoped to win the starting job this year after a long, competitive camp. Malzahn credits Wallace for his class and high character and says it was tough telling him he wasn't going to start.

Last season, Wallace threw for 720 yards and four touchdowns with four interceptions.

The last one standing is Jeremy Johnson. Malzahn says he isn't necessarily a 3 but more like a 2A option. Coach says he impressed them at camp and did a solid job. He'll prepare to play each week but may still end up being redshirted.
