AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- The Auburn Tigers have proven capable of rising high in the rankings with big seasons.
Now, the fourth-ranked Tigers are trying to become regulars up there -- like rival No. 1 Alabama, who visits Saturday in a battle for the SEC West title.
Coach Gus Malzahn said Tuesday he has "no doubt" the Tigers can be highly ranked on a regular basis.
Malzahn says, "Auburn is a place where you can win and win on a consistent basis."
The Tigers had undefeated seasons in 2004 and 2010, finishing second the first time and winning a national title the second.
Auburn's program fell off both times, leading to coaching changes.
As tailback Tre Mason says, "We started in the outhouse and now we're headed to the penthouse."
