AUBURN, Alabama -- It took nearly eight years, but Gus Malzahn and Houston Nutt met face-to-face once again Monday.

Malzahn, the Auburn coach, and his former boss sat down for a brief chat on SiriusXM. A nationwide audience listened as the former co-workers interacted at length for the first time since Malzahn was Nutt's offensive coordinator at Arkansas in 2006.

"I really appreciate coach Nutt giving me an opportunity to get into college football," Malzahn said. "I wouldn't be here where I'm at right now if it hadn't been for coach taking a chance on a high school guy."
