While Gus Malzahn spoke to hundreds of media members at SEC Media Days, the Auburn Tigers picked up their second commitment of the day and their third of the week when Jacksonville, Florida defensive end Raashed Kennion committed to the Tigers, according to reports from Rivals.com and 247Sports. He is the Tigers' 12 commitment for the class of 2014.
Kennion, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound defensive end from First Coast High School, has been committed to Cincinnati since May 31 but picked up an offer from Auburn during a visit to the Tigers' first summer camp in early June.
"The first thing that stands out about Kennion obviously is his frame and length," 247Sports national recruiting analyst JC Shurburtt said of Kennion. "He's somewhat raw and developmental, but the raw tools are there and you can't coach what he has -- which is raw ability to be an excellent pass rusher. Auburn has a need for defensive ends with length in this class and he certainly fills one."
