AUBURN, Ala. -- It didn't take long for the Auburn softball team to have something to cheer about Sunday night.

The NCAA Selection Show quickly put up a graphic showing Auburn is headed to Minneapolis to start tournament play Friday against North Dakota State. The other teams in the Minneapolis bracket are host Minnesota and Wisconsin-Green Bay.

The winner of the Minneapolis bracket will play the winner of the Oregon bracket. Oregon is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament.

"It's post-season and whoever lines up you've got to play," said Auburn coach Clint Myers.

Auburn is 39-17-1 in a comeback season under Myers in his first year with the Tigers. He's won nine college national championships in softball and baseball. His philosophy for tournament play is simple enough.

"It's the team that doesn't beat yourself that has the best chance to win," he said "we can play with anybody when we do the things we're capable of."

Eleven of the 13 SEC softball-playing teams are in the NCAAs.

"The SEC is such a strong conference there should be at 11 in, and maybe 12," Myers said.
