AUBURN, AL -- The top-ranked prospect in the state of Alabama will play for Crimson Tide. Auburn High School linebacker Rashaan Evans signed with Alabama on national television on Wednesday morning.
Evans had narrowed his choices to Alabama, Auburn and UCLA. Many considered Evans an Auburn lean, with his proximity to the school.
However, Evans donned an Alabama cap on ESPNU's National Signing Day show. Alabama is projected Evans as an outside linebacker.
The addition of Evans gives Alabama's top-ranked recruiting class another boost. He's joining other top prospects like Hoover defensive back Marlon Humphrey, Virginia defensive end DaShawn Hand and Louisiana offensive lineman Cameron Robinson as part of the nation's number one recruiting class.
Alabama has landed the top class for three straight years.
