Backup Point Guard Ben Eblen Leaves Alabama team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama backup point guard Ben Eblen is skipping his senior season.

Eblen said Wednesday his time on the team has been "the best three years of my life." He's on track to graduate in December with a degree in consumer affairs.

Eblen played in 92 games over the past three seasons, averaging 8.2 minutes per game.

Forward Tony Mitchell and reserve guard Charles Hankerson Jr. both received releases from their scholarships after last season, when the Crimson Tide made the NCAA tournament.

Coach Anthony Grant's only signee was highly rated forward Devonta Pollard. That leaves 10 scholarship players for the upcoming season.
