TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- The Tide are taking a hiatus from the football field to rest up. After their second scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday, the team took a two day break and will resume practice on Tuesday.

Coach Nick Saban thinks its crucial to give his guys this time to rest. He says it does a player 100 times more good than just a single day off. They're able to recover, get rest, get their legs back, get their energy back and refuel. This is something Saban does every year and he's a big believer in it.

In the last 17 days, Alabama has practiced 19 times. After these 2 days off, the Tide will get one more next Sunday before the first game week of the season. They kick-off the season against Virginia Tech on August 31st in Atlanta.
