TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Now entering his seventh month on Alabama's campus, Derrick Henry continues to collect awards for his prolific high school career.
The 242-pound running back, who set the national record for most career rushing yards near the end of his senior season, was named MaxPreps.com's 2012-13 Male Athlete of the Year.
Henry, who enrolled early at Alabama, ran for 4,261 yards in his final year at Yulee (Fla.) High to finish his four-year career with 12,243 yards. He cleared a 59-year-old record held by Ken Hill of Sugarland, Texas, by more than 100 yards.
