KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Forget about the possibility of suspended wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers playing for Tennessee this season.
Tennessee coach Derek Dooley indicated Monday that the star receiver was no longer part of the Volunteers' roster, saying Rogers "is not a part of our team, as expected."
Tennessee Tech announced Monday afternoon that Rogers officially a member of the Golden Eagles. Because Tennessee Tech is a Football Championship Subdivision school, Rogers could transfer without having to sit out a year.
Rogers caught 67 passes for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns to earn all-Southeastern Conference honors for Tennessee last season. He was indefinitely suspended Thursday for a violation of team rules.
Tennessee Tech went 7-4 and earned its first FCS playoff berth last year.
