TROY, Alabama - Last week's North Texas game wasn't just any game for Troy running back D.J. Taylor; for him, it was the season-opener even though for the rest of the Trojans it was the fourth game of the year.
Saturday's game against South Alabama won't be just any game for Taylor either; for the Bay Minette resident and former Baldwin County High standout it will represent a homecoming of sorts, though he will be on the visiting team's sideline.
The most important thing about the game is that Taylor is back in uniform, back with his team and back on the field. He missed the Trojans' first three games because of heat-related health issues that started with Troy's first practice of fall camp. He was held out two days of practice after experiencing problems the first day and he was affected by the heat again. That led to him being sidelined until the team's training staff agreed he was physically ready to do so.
