The Auburn Tigers lost a commitment from one five-star defensive lineman earlier this week when Muscle Shoals star Dee Liner announced his decommittment from the Tigers but Gus Malzahn and his staff are fighting to hang onto their other superstar pass rusher in the 2013 class, Alpharetta, Georgia star Carl Lawson.
Lawson, who is rated a 5-star prospect and the nation's No. 1 weakside defensive end by the 247Composite index (which combines the rankings of the four major recruiting services), has been taking official visits to other schools in recent weeks with his father, who told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday that Lawson remains an Auburn commit but wants to take a look at other options.
