Senior Bowl practices continue down in Mobile. Auburn and Alabama have a handful of players on the South roster. As many as five Tide and Tigers may go in the first round of the NFL draft. But, they're all underclassmen.
This week, six true seniors from the two schools are trying to show their stuff to the NFL scouts. The Tide is represented by Quarterback Greg McElroy, Preston Dial and James Carpenter.
Auburn has Lee Ziemba, Zac Etheridge and Josh Bynes on the South squad. They're all trying to stand-out in a sea of talented players.
“Things are fast,” Bynes said. “Coaches are going to say things fast, efficient and hope you get it right there. That's different from college when you can go back and forth, go back and forth and reiterate things over and over.”
Dial said, “It's a lot of fun. It's an honor. Coming over here to Fairhope. I haven't played here since freshman year in a j.v. game. So, it's fun getting back out here.”
The Senior Bowl kicks off at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
The NFL Network has the telecast.
