ESPN is reporting Texas A&M is considering a move from the Big 12 to the SEC. Texas A&M had similar discussions last summer, before ultimately decided to stay put.
Texas A&M released this statement to multiple media outlets: "President Loftin is committed to doing what is best for Texas A&M not only now, but also into the future. We continue to have wide-ranging conversations regarding all aspects of the university, including both academics and athletics."
The Big 12 tenuously held together last year, when Texas made a last ditch effort to save the conference from complete dissolution. Colorado and Nebraska ultimately left for the Pac 10 and Big 10 respectively, leaving just 10 teams in the league.
But, cracks have developed with the remaining teams in recent months, largely based on the Longhorns 24-hour sports network deal with ESPN.
