South Carolina entered the season as one of the favorites t play for the SEC Championship. So far, the Gamecocks are right on track, jumping out to a 4-0 start and a top 10 national ranking.
South Carolina can clear a major mental hurdle this weekend, hosting Auburn. The Tigers beat the Gamecocks twice last season, including a 56-19 whipping in the SEC Title Game.
Now, South Carolina gets a struggling Auburn squad in Columbia. But, the team has it's guard up, expecting Auburn's best game at Williams-Brice Stadium.
"They've proven that they can turn it around," Gamecocks Head Coach Steve Spurrier said. "You know, our defense was struggling until last week. We were struggling, and then last week, we put it together.
"It's true, that they've not played very well defensively. They know that, and I'm sure they're going to try to get better."
South Carolina will host Auburn at 2:30 on Saturday on WTVY.
