Sammy Watkins thinks Clemson 'will beat mess out of (Georgia),' 'We're a team that can be 11-1, 12-0'

Clemson's Sammy Watkins is ready for some football.

So much so, he said, he thinks Clemson not only has the ability to beat Georgia, but "beat the mess out of 'em," and that his team is of championship caliber.

The receiver, who dealt with a two-game suspension last season due to a drug possession charge, told The Greenville News on Sunday he is more mature this year and ready to move forward. And he thinks the Tigers are a contender this season.

"Behind the scenes we like our schedule," he said. "People talk about Georgia, Florida State and South Carolina, but I'm not worried about them, I'm concentrated on what we do.
